Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines help ensure that Shobbable remains a safe, trustworthy, and professional platform for creators, sellers, and buyers. By using Shobbable, you agree to follow these Guidelines.
1. Respect Other Users
Shobbable is a community of diverse sellers, creators, and buyers. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Users must not:
- Harass, threaten, or bully other users
- Engage in discriminatory behaviour based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic
- Promote hate speech or content that dehumanises others
- Use abusive or offensive language in communications
We encourage respectful and constructive interactions across the platform.
2. Honest Selling
Trust is the foundation of every transaction on Shobbable. Sellers must:
- Accurately describe products, including condition, dimensions, and materials
- Use authentic images that represent the actual product being sold
- Disclose all relevant product information, including known defects
- Honour advertised pricing at the time of purchase
- Fulfil orders within the stated or a reasonable timeframe
Misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent selling practices are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension.
3. No Fraud
Fraud harms buyers, sellers, and the integrity of the platform. Users may not:
- Create fake accounts or impersonate other users
- Engage in payment fraud, including chargebacks made in bad faith
- Manipulate reviews, ratings, or product visibility through artificial means
- Misrepresent their identity, business, or products
- Use stolen payment methods or personal information
Fraudulent activity may result in immediate, permanent account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
4. Prohibited Content
Users may not upload, share, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful under South African or applicable international law
- Is intentionally misleading or deceptive
- Promotes or glorifies violence, terrorism, or criminal activity
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Violates third-party intellectual property rights
- Constitutes unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
Shobbable reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Guidelines without prior notice.
5. Intellectual Property
Only upload and use content that you own or have explicit permission to use. This includes:
- Product images and photography
- Logos and branding assets
- Videos and multimedia
- Product descriptions and written content
- Digital downloads and files
Copyright infringement may result in content removal, account suspension, and referral to the relevant rights holder. If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed on Shobbable, contact us at legal@shobbable.com.
6. Prohibited Products
Users may not list or sell products that are prohibited under Shobbable's Prohibited Products Policy. Violations may result in immediate listing removal and account termination.
7. Spam and Abuse
Users may not:
- Send unsolicited messages or bulk communications to other users
- Post repetitive, irrelevant, or low-quality content
- Manipulate platform algorithms, search rankings, or recommendation systems
- Abuse referral or affiliate programmes through fraudulent means
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to abuse platform features
8. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shobbable account. This includes:
- Using a strong, unique password and keeping it confidential
- Not sharing account access with unauthorised parties
- Reporting any suspected unauthorised account access to support@shobbable.com immediately
9. Enforcement
When violations of these Guidelines occur, Shobbable may take any of the following actions at its discretion:
- Remove offending content or product listings
- Issue a warning to the account holder
- Restrict specific account functionality
- Temporarily suspend the account
- Permanently terminate the account
- Report activity to law enforcement where required
Enforcement decisions are made at Shobbable's discretion. Where possible, we will communicate the reason for enforcement action, but we are not obligated to do so in cases involving fraud or serious policy violations.
10. Reporting Violations
If you encounter behaviour or content that violates these Guidelines, please report it to us at support@shobbable.com. Please include relevant details and any supporting evidence where possible. All reports are reviewed by our team and treated confidentially.

Shobbable is built to help creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses sell online with confidence. These Guidelines exist to maintain a platform that is safe, trustworthy, and beneficial for everyone — sellers, buyers, and the broader South African e-commerce community.
